Biography
Sujeet Kumar is a former Parliamentarian who represented Odisha in the Rajya Sabha (Upper House). Prior to his tenure in Parliament, he held key roles in the Government of Odisha, including Advisor to the Special Development Council (SDC) and Special Secretary to the Odisha State Planning Board, where he played a crucial role in policy planning and development.
With over 20 years of experience across the corporate, government, legal, and non-profit sectors, Sujeet is the Founder and Mentor of LexMantra, a full-service legal consulting firm. He also founded Kalinga Kusum, a social enterprise focused on education and legal empowerment in rural India, where he continues to provide leadership and direction.
In addition, Shri Sujeet Kumar serves as an adviser to numerous start-ups, entrepreneurs, social enterprises, non-profits, impact investors, and donor organizations—both Indian and foreign—on matters of business strategy, legal, regulatory, and corporate governance in India.
Shri Sujeet Kumar’s academic background includes an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from Oxford University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Law from India. He is a Life Member of several prestigious organizations, including the Orissa High Court Bar Association, International Bar Association, Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA), Construction Industry Arbitration Council (CIAC), International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR), Oxbridge Society of India, Harvard Club of India, and Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA).
